Research has consistently shown that the application of positive psychology tools, such as the PERMA model (Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment), can lead to significant improvements in employee mental health, productivity, and job satisfaction.
For instance, a 2019 study published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that implementing a positive psychology-based workplace intervention led to increases in employee life satisfaction, positive affect, and psychological capital (Luthans et al., 2019).
Furthermore, a meta-analysis in the Journal of Positive Psychology reviewed 20 studies on the impact of positive psychology interventions in the workplace, determining that they had a medium-to-large positive effect on employee wellbeing (Donaldson et al., 2017).
Additionally, a 2016 study in the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology demonstrated that teaching employees the PERMA model led to improvements in life satisfaction, work engagement, and perceived stress levels (Kern et al., 2016).
